• During an afternoon in Bangkok, set off for the Jim Thompson House & Museum where you can check out the Asian art collection of James H.W. Thompson - the “Thai Silk King” - who went missing mysteriously in 1967, leaving behind an incredible museum spotlighting his own stunning collection of art. Thompson was an American architect who built this museum in 1959 to house his most secular collection of historical Buddhist statues and traditional Thai paintings made from cloth, wood and paper that illustrate the life of Buddha. He also collected white and blue porcelain from China and other intricate artwork from Burma, Laos and Cambodia. The founder of the Thai Silk Company was believed to have truly revitalized the silk industry in Southeast Asia.
