Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang es una ciudad agradable en el río Mekong, con edificios de estilo tradicional de Laos (patrimonio de la Unesco). Hay conexiones en barco río arriba hasta Chiang Mai, Tailandia.
Vientiane
Vientiane es la capital de Laos, la ciudad más poblada y sede del gobierno, presidente y algunos templos. Es MUY relajante aquí, ciertamente para una ciudad capital. Sin atascos de tráfico ni colas en ningún lado.
Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng solía ser la ciudad donde muchos occidentales (sobre todo jóvenes) iban de fiesta, pero después de algunos accidentes mortales, las fiestas "malas" ya no existen. Todavía hay muchos restaurantes y tiendas para turistas... El río sigue siendo muy atractivo para andar en canoa y es agradable alquilar una moto y descubrir la zona. Algo especial aquí es volar en globo.
