Rhodes

Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It collapsed due to an earthquake and was never re-built. The Medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site.

The island Zakynthos is a tourist destination with nickname "the Flower of the Levant".
